Keeping Your Gymnast Inspired During COVID-19

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, schools, gyms, and most businesses have closed their doors around the world. For the countless athletes who have been training their entire lives, the Summer Olympics have been postponed as well. Our world is being flipped upside down and in the hopes of finding some semblance of structure, parents have now become teachers and coaches. Whether you’re homeschooling your children, trying to work from home yourself, or doing your best to keep your kids active, we’re here to help inspire your gymnast during this transitional time.

Even though it might seem harder than ever before, now is the MOST important time to make sure our athletes KEEP training. To motivate our gymnasts, we’ve put together a list of activities to keep their bodies healthy and their goals strong.

Virtual gymnastics classes!

We’ve been overwhelmed and inspired by the number of virtual classes for athletes that have recently been published. Our gyms might be closed but we can still learn new ways of studying gymnastics while refining our skills. We’re super eager to check out Simone Biles' Masterclass! Who wouldn’t want to learn from the most decorated World Championship American gymnast of all time - 10 gold medals!! Virtual training will keep your gymnast inspired and engaged with awesome coaches from around the world.

Movies to flip over!

Just because your gymnast can’t physically be at the gym doesn’t mean we can’t live vicariously through our favorite characters. Instead of binging on Netflix, why not dive into your favorite gymnastics themed movie. Let it rip with "Stick It or feel inspired by "The Gabby Douglass Story." Share the excitement with the whole family and get your athlete pumped with a family movie night!

Bring the gym home!

If not already, most of your furniture has probably turned into an apparatus for your gymnast to climb all over. Take the next step and invest in a quality gymnastics mat that keeps your athlete working hard and tumbling safely. We highly recommend training on-air with AirTrack Shop! Start with our Zephyr Airmat, an inflatable mat that is customizable to your training needs and most importantly helps reduce the chances of injury. Make training at home more fun and keep your athlete flying high!

Encouraging our athletes to dive into their passion for gymnastics will help our kids adjust to our new normal while reducing their fears and anxiety. We strongly encourage everyone to continue to stay home and stay healthy. Together we will make it through this challenging time, and we can’t wait to see everyone back at their gym. Happy living room training to all of our athletes!
